Day 41 Chinese New Year of the Snake

Happy Chinese New Year! 新年快乐!

In China, the new year celebrations began at midnight, with state TV staging a variety show to welcome the new year. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the rerun of the performances, and was thoroughly impressed by the talent that performed. Celine Dion gave a fantastic performance of her song from the film Titanic. Lang Lang, the Chinese pianist, was accompanied by a ballet dancer dressed in a gold tutu. My favourite part was watching the Youth of China perform martial arts in unison.

The snake is meant to be charismatic and good thinkers. They appreciate the finer things in life, but good at earning and saving money. People born in the year of the snake are patient, wise, and they prefer not to rely on others.
