Day 111 London Marathon 2013

The runners in this year’s London Marathon fell silent at the beginning, to remember those who died and were injured 6 days ago in the Boston Marathon. Though I wasn’t a spectator, I was on a bus that was diverted near the marathon. Looking down on the ant-like runners, I thought that they looked like lots of separate people running for different reasons, but all working towards the same goal (the finish line).

It was a shame that David Weir didn’t win, but congratulations to Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia, who won the men’s race, and Priscah Jeptoo of Kenya, who won the women’s race.
