The deadline for medical school applications is looming, and my school internal deadline for checking over our UCAS forms is even more looming. This personal statement thing is doing my head in. Like my chemistry teacher said, why not just say “I want to do medicine, not because of blah blah blah, but because I just do”. How do I explain my motivation without coming out with an X Factor style sob story?
However, planning my personal statement’s made me discover stuff about myself, like my favourite part of biology and why I sit in lessons without falling asleep. I’ve just got to put my notes together in a succinct way, and hopefully, my form tutor won’t use his red pen on my first draft too much!
