Day 261 Later Than Late

Today I went to a lecture with a friend. Let’s call them X.

I called X after school, and they told me that they’d meet me half an hour later. I agreed to this, and settled down in the school library to do some homework.

Forty minutes later, they texted to say that they’d be there in five minutes. I tutted and got back to my work.

X turned up twenty minutes later without a word of apology. I was furious by the point. Was I being unreasonable to be mad at them for being a)late, and b)not having the decency to text me again to tell me that they’d be later than late?

I’m still a bit huffy, but writing about it has made me feel (slightly) better.
